Dvr needed for dish satellite

I have a dish satellite system and would like to add a dvr but cannot find one, I understand hopper is not available for Rv satellite systems, also my dish shuts off about every 4 hours , any idea why this happens?

There is a auto shut off in the Dish box menus, I think 4 hours is the default. You can reset the timer by changing channels or any other remote action like bringing up the guide and dismissing it.

You can add a hard drive to a Wally Dish box and it becomes a DVR. Works on any Dish account.

Hopper is do-able for an RV but you have to have residential service account vs. the Dish Outdoors RV service account. There are other threads on irv2 on what your RV has to be equipped with to be compatible with a Hopper.

They will waive that charge if you ask. They did for me a few weeks age when I was setting up our system.
