I live in NY. Three years ago, I requested a tag for my Fleetwood Discovery. I already have three others registered to other household vehicles. I was sent a white tag that has been in my Discovery windshield for almost 12k miles going up and down the east coast highways and bridges, and never had a problem. BTW, that is towing a Hummer that has its own EZ Pas but is put in the microwave to avoid any duplicate charges.

I have the I pass, have 5 vehicles registered from motorcycles to class A, I pull 3 different trailers, none of which are registered with I pass, just keep your plates updated, it gets an accurate tire count every time, 2,4,6,10. Oh, all on one transponder, get a list of states that it works in, I know Oklahoma doesn't work.

NY EzPass is issued by at least 3 authorities. MTA, NY/NJ Port Authoritiy, and NY State Thruway, all seem to have different rules, fees and rates.
The one I have, from the Port Authoritiy, is blue, works with or without toad and gives a discount on some NY bridges, that lead to Long Island. That is why I switched from a NJ EzPass.
Don`t try to figure it out.

Same here.
We have an NC toll pass that interacts with Sun Pass and the others. The MH has one transponder (4 axle) and the Toad another (2 axle). The office in NC told me to remove the license plate on the toad when it is being towed. That way there will be no issues with pictures of plates. Also we were told to keep the Toad transponder in the static bag as well so it will not register.
No problems so far. Been passed by police and have had no issues.

As an FYI...by 2016 all states must take other states EZ-Pass type devises. This will eliminate the need to get an E-Pass for FL. For us we are not planning to visit FL with the RV until then.

Reference, please. This can't happen too soon for us.

Just a tip for other New Yorkers, if you're using the ezpass in a motorhome, make sure you register it to the motorhome as you will be able to get serious discounts when you're using the New York State Thruway system. You're not charged as a commercial vehicle but rather as a motorhome which is at a lower rate.

WDW the transponder for the rv is different. Mounts to the license plate. Can take a picture in the spring if the snow ever melts.

Thanks to all. This thread motivated me to get a transponder for our Motorhome. In Virginia it was reasonably easy with one phone call to the EZ Pass Customer Servce center and answering a few simple questions. The transponder will be uniquely for the Motorhome and I will remove the transponder from the towed when traveling. Took all of 5 minutes.

Wow. This is very confusing. So one more reason we just pay the toll. Only had a Sun pass for a trip to the Keys a few winters ago.
