EcoFlow Alternator and Battery

Has anybody looked into the EcoFlow Alternator and one of there batteries. https://us.ecoflow.com/products/800w...ct_information It looks like it would be a good alternative to going complete LiFePO4 change over. My understanding is the Alternator (which is a box) would charge at 800 watts. To the LiFePO4 EcoFlow battery of your choice. This happens when there excess power from the Engine alternator. Then when the house batteries draws down to a certain voltage. The EcoFlow alternator starts reverse charging the house batteries.
Here is the EcoFlow Alternator manual. https://manuals.ecoflow.com/us/produ...00w?lang=en_US

To do what you describe, the Ecoflow alternator would have to connect to the house batteries rather than the chassis battery. Presumably when the engine alternator has enough capacity, it charges the house battery and the Ecoflow Alt as well. That way it is available to reverse charge when needed.

It seems to me to be an expensive & complicated way to increase house battery capacity and I'm not sure you gain much advantage from the fact that the Ecoflow battery/inverter box has a lithium battery inside. Adding another battery directly to the house bank would likely achieve as much at far less cost. Yeah, it's not lithium, but are you looking for more amp-hours or just bragging rights?

I'll hasten to add I'm not anti-lithium or anti-Ecoflow. I have an Ecoflow River (1200wh and a big Bluetti 2400 with a solar panel. I just don't see where the extra value comes from spending a minimum of $850 to gain about 85 AH of battery capacity (1024 Wh from the Delta 3+). You get essentially the same additional capacity by adding one Group 24 lead-acid battery.

Your right Gary, about the engine alternator. It would also charge off the shore power and the generator.

Currently you can get the Delta 2 max and alternator for $1399. Which is 2048WH. It is a little expensive. It's also expensive to switch to LFP batteries. Also there's the LFP BIM and DC to DC charger and the new settings. I currently run 4 L16. I can't remember the spec on the L16 I bought. But there around 400AH. I was thinking It would be helpful when your living off of the Generator and solar. It might also help from draining the house batteries down while living between stop and start times.

The unit weights around 50LBS (i think). So it would be handy to take it while Jeeping. To run the electric cooler. It might be a work around for me till my house batteries need replacing again.
