Econo boost switch
hi everybody
I just recently I just recently purchased a used Holiday Rambler 2002 Neptune. The dealer who I bought it from did not know much about motorhomes because he was a broker and did not give me any instructions.
I noticed I noticed on the panel that there is a switch that says Econo boost. I cannot find out any information on what the Econo boost does and or how to use it.
I was wondering if there is anybody who knows what the switches for and or how to use it.
thank you in advance I hope somebody can help me

Well , I can say I have a " Boost " switch ; a momentary push and hold while required ; to connect all the batteries in the coach together for " emergency start " power to the engine starter. I'd venture to say all coaches built in the past 25 years will have one, labeled , " Boost " or " Emergency Start".
If this is a momentary switch; doesn't lock in an on position ; then I would say it's for emergency start , particularly if you don't have another switch labeled for that function.
Why it has " Econo Boost " would be a good question.
To test operation , you'd need a helper , and to be in the battery compartment while the helper pushes the button , on/off , so you could check for a click from a large relay between the coach and chassis batteries.
I have this picture of a Monaco battery bay , and the relay that would be making noise would be the one in the red circle.

If you are talking of the Allison transmission control pad, economy mode just modifies the shift points. Shift quicker - Accelerate slower. Traveling down the highway will probably make no difference.
Have a nice day Darrel

That's easy - the Neptune is a diesel.
HR uses the term "Auxiliary Boost" for the battery boost switch, so that is NOT what the Econo Boost label refers too.
The 2002 HR owner manual refers to the tv antenna amplifier as a "TV Booster" , but no "econo" there.

Now that's an owners manual .
A number of days good reading there.
So if the dash has no switch Labeled " Batt Boost "; as per the diagram on one of the pages; could be a PO stuck a switch that happened to fit in as a replacement.
That switch just happened to say " Econo Boost " and the installer didn't care, as long as it worked.
All sorts of possibilities.

Is the switch on the transmission selector panel or is it a separate switch located on the dash or side panel??

From what I am hearing it deals with the transmission shift points. Thank you for your input.

Your statement is a little confusing and I'm not sure you have a clear understanding . The "Battery Boost" switch connects the house batteries to the chassis batteries to help start the engine. The "Econo" switch causes the transmission to upshift sooner than normal to keep the engine at a lower rpm for fuel economy. It also delays downshifting for the same reason.
