Electric step

Our step quit working on our 2001 American tradition. What is the brand of the motor and a place to purchase one. We are in Illinois.

How did you determine the motor itself was bad?

If no replies...you can crawl under and look for nameplate info. I think some of these motors can be replaced with an automatic automobile window motor. BTW maybe something is stuck. Be REALLY CAREFUL and try moving all the working parts and spraying silicone or something equal on everything.

Be advised! The step motor is ALWAYS powered, it is operated by opening/closing the ground connection. This means you can trigger movement very easily and lose or damage fingers.

Before you begin throwing money at the electric steps questions need answers.
First detmine the brand and model of your steps. The Kwikee step service training manual will help determine the answers to those questions. Next follow the troubleshooting section flow-chart to locate the non-working problem.
Here is a video of the procedure. If you are not comfortable performing the inspection and testing make an appt. with an RV repair shop.

Napa can usually find a window motor to replace the one you remove.
