I am suspecting that the sensor switch between the coach body and the door might be intermittent. The gap between the two is about 1/4 inch. They will not adjust to be closer to each other. I have been considering taking a small magnet and adding it to the side of the sensor with the magnet in it to "extend" the sensor.
Am I nuts or might it work?

KMX888,
I just had this happen to me. I wish I new how to post pictures but I have tried and it simple doesn't work for me.
Anyway, on my frame there are 2 screws which hold 4 push in metal sensors (for lack of a better term). Those 4 sensors must match up with the 4 that are in the door.
I removed the 2 screws to expose the housing unit and carefully pulled it out; (be careful not to pull to hard and dislodge the wires which are attached to the back).
Once removed there is a set nut that you can unscrew to expose the metal sensor. I did that to all for on the frame and again on the door.
The steps work perfectly and without hesitation now.
About 10 minutes is all it took once I located the problem. Winnebago thought it might be the switch or the motor. Trouble shooting is what takes the longest.
.
I doubt it's a wire issue as you stated it works intermittently.
Good luck
