Electric steps

My electric steps have decided to operate in a unique way. Earlier on my trip they decided not to work. Now the situation is that the interconnection to the ignition switch causes the steps to extend instead of retract.

Had any on experienced this anomaly? Any thoughts will be appreciated. By the way I drive a 2020 Tiffin Allegro RED.

There's switches near the door. Find the 'Step' switch and flip it to the opposite setting and see what happens.

Sounds like the controller. Here's the troubleshooting procedures from Kwikee.

Electric steps

I would check all connections especially ground wires, there are 2 green ground wires make sure they are both clean with no corrosion where they bolt to frame and under the step.

Plug and unplug the 4 way connection to the step several times to help clean the connection

If this doesn’t work probably bad controller
