Electrical: Backup monitor/HWH control panel

Hello,

Strange electrical problem with my 2005 Journey 36G. The backup monitor, digital compass/outside temp display (just below the backup monitor) and the HWH control panel (on the driver's left hand side) for the jacks have all lost power.

The problem started as intermittent and is most notable at the monitor and compass/outside temp indicator going off and on. The problem has progressed to all three not working at all. The no jacks is the biggest annoyance. I'm not thinking it's a fuse, but I'm not sure.

I plan on checking power and ground this weekend, and I've reviewed the wiring diagrams - at least what I can decipher. What I wondering is, has anyone else seen this problem with all three displays/controller going out at the same time?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

it appears there is a lost ground, probably under the dash. bad grounds and connections are 90 percent of all problems with the hwh system. either at the battery connections, loose bolts on the pump mounting bracket, or accessory ground issues.

hwh uses two sources, both acc and ign, so grounds to both are needed. i know when ign is on, acc is also, but grounds, and blown fuses are a good place to start.

Circling back to report on the fix. AzPete, thanks for your suggestions.

This turned out to be a failed 30A Relay (Aux On) found in the front generator compartment where the relays/circuit breakers are housed. While the problem at first appeared to be a loose ground, it turned out to be the relay.

Replacing the relay fixed the problem.

Of note, there was one other forum member with the identical problem I was experiencing. That thread can be found here:
