My starter batteries keep going down. They are new batteries and I can use some idea's on where to look for shorts. This is a 1995 Holiday Rambler Endeavor with a N14 Cummings rear engine

If we had a clue as to the make, model, year, chassis, and engine that would make for a good start.

When you say "short" we are talking about finding a "drain" on the battery when everything should be Off. I assume you already confirmed that the battery is getting charged with engine running (by alternator).

Measure the DC Voltage across the fuses (measure in milliamps). Just touch the multimeter probes to each side of the fuse. If there is power running through the fuse (a draw) you will read a corresponding voltage drop across the fuse.

Then look at the chart and you can determine how much power (current) is flowing. If everything is Off you should have no current flowing - and read no millivolts across the fuse.

If you do read a high millivolt drop then you will know what circuit has the drain and where to look for the problem.
