Electrical issue?

Just travelled cross country. On our last leg, noticed our stairs were out during travel. Wouldn’t retract until turned off engine & restarted. Seemed ok, traveled another 200 miles. Now they retract when they shouldn’t. Wouldn’t extend yesterday afternoon at all. This morning they retracted when we open the door and are out.
Today the entry lights come on with no movement in the coach. Off for a bit, on for a bit. Any ideas??

I would guess a connection issue. Check all connections unplug spray with contact cleaner and reconnect. Check ground connection as well.

Really hard to help without a year, make and model of the rv you have or at least the make of the steps.
That said, on the Kwikee model steps. the biggest issue is the ground come loose, doesn't have a good connection, gets corroded or dirt in between the end and the chassis frame. Easy to check for the bad ground but don't crawl under the steps themselves just in case they decide to come out.

I would suspect controller to motor connections or controller to door switch connections. Unplug and apply a dab of DeoxIT.
