Electrical problem
Have a 1988 Executive Industries (Monaco) Executive Prestige diesel. Tachometer is intermittent, instrument panel lights are intermittent, couple of ceiling lights don't work and now both wipers won't turn off, but are effected by wiper speed control. Suspect I have a bad ground somewhere, but have no idea where to start. Any ideas ?

Alas all I can say is "I suspect you are right"
Start under the dash and go from there.
True story: Dash radio was driving me batty, kept cutting out on me.. I was developing a nice KOJAK hair cut (Pulling it all out) when finally I pressed my finger on a MOLEX connector on a relay panel near the high power aux post-amplifer under the dash.. I heard a very clear CLICK as the latches on the connector snapped home.. Yup, that was it. Not a screw loose but.. well, same idea.
Idiot at factory did not push hard enough.

We had similar problems. We cleaned all grounds and/replaced them as needed. We added several new grounds. One was from the tach to the coach, one from the battery to the frame, one from the alternator to the frame. I know there several other things that Thom did too BUT what finally fixed everything was this from Monaco "Try putting a 300 ohm or so resister between the send and ground posts on the tach, one of the other techs brought this up at a meeting the other day, I had forgotten about this."
The tach was the last thing to get fixed, we had figured everything else out but that, and that tip from Monaco fixed that.

Electrical Problems
Thanks for the great advice. When you say 300 ohms between send & ground, are we talking about the actual tach, or tach sender ?

The first things we did were grounds. Checking them, fixing them if needed, and/or adding extra ones before we add the resistor thou.
We went to Radio Shack and Thom got a 330ohm resistor and put that on the actual tach. One the back of the tach there is a plug where the signal wire comes in. They did not sell 300ohm, the closest was 330ohm. Monaco was ok with that and things now work fine.
Thom did say that it sounds like the ignition switch/module might be the problem.
If it's doing it when it's running then it could also be the voltage regulator - bad plug or ground.
It could be the ground from the alternator to the chassis or from the alternator to the engine block or the engine block to the chassis.
Check the ground(s) from the battery too.
