I have a 1999 Pace arrow vision. I just had a rely from the generator. changed out, so I could run my ac during travel. IT now works great. I had my rig plugged up to shore power at my house, I noticed that my steps were not working and the Gas alarms was going off, not gas on. I unpllug my rig, started by genarator and everything works fine. I know my main batter was low, but thought being plugged up the shore power would charge it. Not the case. Do you think the rely was incorrectly installed? Puzzled.

Check your transfer switch, they often default to the generator if they fail.

If the relay you had changed was a automatic transfer switch, it could be wired wrong.

Transfer switchs are generator priority, meaning 120 volt power from the generator causes it to switch. That part seems to be working.

When you switch off the generator, the switch defaults to shore power. When you plug in shore power it will be pass thru to your breaker panel.

Everything works fine while you're on generator, but not on shore power. That means the shore power connection isn't right at the transfer switch.


Take it back to whoever changed it and have them check it out.
