Engine coolant test strips

Tiffin reccomends Acustrip. Amazon has Robinair brand but picture is of an Acustrip bottle. Acustrip is not mentioned anywhere in the body of text.

Are they the same or is Robinair pulling a fast one?

These are expensive with a shelf life. Do you recommend them and do you have other better choices?

Thank you.

I use Acustrip, mine come individually packed in sealed strips.

Bryan,

We don't know what coolant you have or how old it is, so kind of hard to make recommendations.

I dont know about robinair, but given the cost ofdamage to the engine, i would go with the known quantity (accustrip). Yes they are expensive, but not that expensive. (I use accustrip)

Its a 2018 Allegro Red with 6.7 Cummins.

To be clear, I think I already know I want to use the Acustrip, but Amazon looks like a bait and switch.

Where do you get your strips? Thanks.

I lost confidence in my ability to subjectively interpret the strips. I ultimately just took a sample and sent it in for analysis. Cost ~$40 and the results were posted about 4 days after I put the sample in the mail. It showed my coolant was good as new >>> No action required.

I got my kits from and I sent my samples to JG Lubrication.

Blackstone is another option.

You may check with a local shop, they may offer analysis.

I use JG lubricants as well. Test the oil, trans, antifreeze.
