Eternabond application

Have a 2002 Dutch Star with a epdm roof. The dicor sealant is cracking along the seam at the edge of the roof where it meets the metal strip that attaches the roof to the fibreglass edging. The sealant comes up against the metal strip. The strip is screwed down every 1 and 1/2 inches. For the tape to seal down tight can I cover the metal strip and bond to the fibreglass outside the strip? It will still not be visible from the ground unless you are 7 feet tall or more. Might leave an air gap over the strip and screws ? Or can I roll it flat with the metal roller? Thanks for you alls advice!

Yes you can just clean it up real good. A roller is recommended for applying the tape anyway since it is pressure activated. I try to get as much air out as possible with my fingers around the screw heads. What you want to be careful of is leaving channels in the wrinkles that will allow water to seep in. If you end up with any questionable spots just a dab of dicor will fix it.

I would use the 4" EternaBond tape to overlap the trim. I would clean the area thoroughly with Acetone. Pressure is key with the EternaBond! Use a rubber roller and then your fingers on any unlevel areas. You can also run a small bead of Dicor sealant along the edge of the tape to protect it from the rain, although if it's applied properly this probably isn't necessary. It's great stuff!

If you’re concerned, you can always hit the surface with the eternabond prep spay. Makes a pretty big difference.

Following directions exactly results in a waterproof installation.
To My Tesla; this might be helpful, bottom half of webpage addresses RV's: https://www.eternabond.com/articles.asp?id=200
I bought a wooden pastry roller instead of the metal roller, worked fine.

Don't stretch the tape. Just lay it down.
