Eternabond Tape for front and rear caps

I am planning on installing 6" wide Eternabond tape over both the front and rear caps as normal maintenance, not to cure an active leak. I've watched the videos and see that Eternabond tape can be "difficult" to apply because it is so sticky.
I'm wondering if those of you that have performed this task with Eternabond would suggest trying to use one long 8 foot piece of tape, or maybe going with four 24" pieces with some overlap to avoid trying to do the job with one piece?
Any advice from all of you that have done this job in the past?
Thanks in advance for your insight!

Use one long piece! I striped mine bear and used 4" wide.
It is terribly sticky and hard to work with, but worth it!

Eternabond Tape for front and rear caps

There is a backing on the tape. It does not all need removed at once. You can remove a little at a time and work your way across. It is very sticky and you only have one chance. Also be sure to not stretch the tape while applying tape or removing backing.

Yes use a roller, works great. I also used Dicor on the edges for the 4 inch.

I used 4" tape all around my coach's roof. It was a lot of work to remove all the dicor, fill the gaps with silicone caulking and finally apply the tape - took about a week. My roof and caps are fiberglass. The tape is pretty easy to use - just make sure you are putting it where you intended because once it's down, it's tough to remove.

I used 4" also. Snapped a chalk line as a guide to keep the tape going in a straight line. Did not seal the edges. Did the front back in 2011 and the rear in 2016 and has been leak free. Pics are from 2019 when I recoated the EPDM roof. No problems with the coating sticking to the tape.

Frankly I don't see a reason for needing 6" for most solid roof seems , maybe for some older HRs had problematic cap seems. . Make sure to lay tape down as you steer next foot or two where it belongs.pulling away backing as it goes. The painters tape or chalkline is good idea. Like everything clean and prep top importance. I'm sure you can find pro vids Utube.

Thanks for all the suggestions

Mission accomplished with the Eternabond tape. Frankly, it was easier than I had thought it was going to be. I used the 6" width to cover the builder's seal, but 4" would have probably worked well too.
Only issue I had was with a few small air bubbles. Glad I purchased the roller that Eternabond suggests.
As always, thanks for the help.

When you start taping over the curve in the roof, the tape will want to wrinkle. I suggest not stretching the tape but cutting the wrinkles to make the tape flat.
