Sounds like they have undersized electricity feed for the number of sites.
Can say I’ve never heard of that one.

I think they mean you can't run your Generator at night for AC, but if you have full hookup then you don't need to run your generator for night time AC.

That seems like an odd rule. Do you have 50 amp or 30 amp power? Is anyone around you runnin their AC? It very well could be a power issue in an old park. What is the nightly fee?

Are you at Fishermen's? I know that one of the camping areas there does not have adequate elec service for a/c.

is a extra charge for running your A/C ?? I stayed at a old RV park in June in Vermont and they had only 30amp services but for $4 a day you could run the A/C all day. Only problem it would only handle one A/C at a time. Solution was to run the generator when it was during the heat of the day !!

I stayed at a private campground that had a no electric heater rule. AC was OK, if that makes sense.

That is weird and I have never heard of that before. Time to look for a new campground.

How would they know if you were running electric hot water?

Here is a copy of the RI campground rules.
All it talks about is quiet hours.
Did someone tell you or is it written?
Show and tell.

Reading the link, Area 4 of Fisherman's Campground states,
"b. The electrical service in Area 4 is not adequate for RV air conditioning units during extreme heat and use may be restricted during Peak use times. This rule also applies to heaters during the cooler months."
This seems to explain the restriction.

We have stayed at the Escapees co-op in OR where they said we could only run 1 AC. This was because the whole campground was wired with aluminum wire and it wouldn't handle the load.

Old, poorly designed electric system. $$$$ to update to modern RV demands. Very common problem.
