Extra Exterior door

Just acquired a 360 1999 Coachmen Santara with 1 super slide. Does anyone know the purpose of the 2x3 exterior door in the slide? Seems to provide access to the areas behind the couch.

Thanks for the input, but Storage is about 8" deep (before the days of flat TV's) and about 5 feet above the ground, kinda high for us old farts to have to lift much. My paperwork from Coachmen does not even mention this door although the show it in the brocheur.
