F53 Cruise Control Repair

Anyone know of a place in the Houston area that can work on an 2011 F53 cruise control on a Class A Itasca Suncruiser 37F?

Ill be honest I dont know much about your rig but I was shocked when I took mine apart this year how easy it was to remove, clean and replace. I think it only required a phillips head screw driver to remove the entire thing from the steering column.

granted mine is almost 15 years older than yours, but the cruise control was about 60 dollars at autozone and could have removed, and replaced it in under an hour.

What is it doing or not doing? There aren't that many things that can go bad on the system. I fixed mine twice (it was a 2004 but not much has changed) plus there are many knowledgeable people on here that are willing to help.

It does not turn on at all. I took it to my normal mechanic and he needed a wiring schematic to further troubleshoot. Fuses are ok. I understand that the cruise controls are now controlled by the computer along with switches in the steering column, brake pedal, speed sensor on the drive train and even a burned out brake light bulb can keep it from working. This is all drive by wire.

The 2011 F53 is drive by wire. The only components of the cruise system are the switches, not much to go wrong. A Ford dealer may be the best place to go.

Right, drive by wire, forgot about that. I believe most of the other components are the same though. I have the troubleshooting guide for the older ones but not newer. Wish our MH was here as I could take a look.

There are 2 common switches that tend to fail. First is the brake pedal one and second is the redundant brake switch that is on the master cylinder. I believe each of these are less than $20 if you wanted to try swapping. Both are very easy to change.
