Factory Warranty Question

I have a new 2018 coach. At the factory the front clearance lights were not properly sealed. I stored the rig for about a week. We had some heavy rain during that period. Standing water discolored the dash. Factory has authorized replacement of the dash.

Now the question:

Sitting on the dash and consequently semi-immersed was the hub for my RVi Brake remote monitor. It doesn't work now. Replacement cost is $100.00. Does anyone have any experience getting the factory to cover cost of replacing things like this, damaged because of factory defect? It's a 2018 Thor Venetian.

Thanks

Unfortunately probably not since it wasn't part of the original coach.

Never hurts to request it, but the warranty itself does not cover loss of use or consequential damage to other things. If they do anything about the Rvi, it's just for good customer relations.

I would call RVI, their customer service is top rate. They might make you a special deal on a replacement. I stupidly broke the "claw" on my RVI2 that attaches to the brake pedal. It was totally my fault for attempting to move the unit before it was unplugged. They sent me a new part postage paid and would not accept payment, even though I offered.

Any good dealer would step in and replace it for you. They have ways of getting reimbursed and even if they could not with such a small amount, it would be a good gesture to the customer.

Edit: FWIW, A year after the warranty was up, my wife wanted the split window next to the passenger seat replaced with a unobstructed fixed window. I called Bob Tiffin about it (we had met him at an RV show a month before). He just had a replacement window sent to our dealer at no charge. That's the type of things companies and dealers should do to endear the customers to them.
