Fair Market Value of RV

We are considering selling or trading our 2015 Entegra Aspire DP. What selling/trading recommendations, and methods or web sites could you recommend to establish a current, fair market value? Tnx Ken

I would check the NADA value first. Then go to RVTrader.com and search for the same rig to see what others out there are asking.



I would advertise it in the free classifieds here on IRV2, and also in RVTrader.com. Some people also have good luck with Craigslist, but be prepared for the scammers!


I would state in each ad that you will only accept a direct transfer of funds between their bank and yours, NO EXCEPTIONS! That's the only safe way!

www.rvtrader.com and enter you exact coach year, model and floor plan and choose distance as "nationwide" Their search will show you almost every one listed for sale by dealers AND private sellers, too. I'm guessing they only show the private sales that have listed with them. There is also a www.rvt.com that is similar but not the same as rvtrader.

If you are selling it yourself, be sure to list it in the classifieds here on iRV2. No charge, even with a lengthy description and pictures. I doubt you'll find many qualified buyers for your Aspire via Craigslist.

PPL Motorhomes has a wealth of information on selling an RV. It also has a section that shows what price was paid. There’s a 2015 Aspire that it shows as sold, but it’s an older listing from Nov 2016.

With a private sell and no matter how you do it, expect no more than low NADA and that's for basic prices. Anything more is gravy.
Upgrades and options will attract more buyers, but will seldom get you more money.
With a trade in, figure that you can buy a new one for 30% under MSRP, so once you know the difference you'll have to pay, the rest of the math should be easy.
If trading for a used one, again subtract the difference from low NADA on theirs for knowing what you'll be getting for yours.
Naturally the goal of the dealer, in a worst case scenario, is to buy yours for low and to sell you their's for high.
Last time around, we sold ours, privately, for just under low book and bought another from a consignment dealer for a considerable sum under, with the seller taking a huge hit.
Actually made the purchase first, as a good deal doesn't just sit around waiting for you and it always helps to be waving a checkbook with pen in hand, while negotiating.
