Fan comparison

I have 2 fantastic fans in the motorhome and am looking at installing some in a recent 5th wheel purchase. It's a 2012 Crusader and has the typical crappy bath fans, noisy and ineffective, and a vent in the living area with no power to the area. I can tap into a slide power and run the wires up for a wall control.

Looking for comparisons between Maxi fan and fantastic fan. Yes I have searched but the comparisons I have found are older and don't address specific concerns. Both are capable of moving a large volume of air and both have versions with a variety of features and options.

I really don't have an interest in a remote because just something else to break or get misplaced. I would like it controlled with by a wall switch or simple thermostat. I want an automatic vent cover open with rain sensor. In the living area and half bath, the ceiling is very tall and not practical to climb up a ladder to turn on. Is the control a 2 wire or multi wire bundle. If 2 wire then a simple switch works. I have not researched wiring one in. Some versions can reverse for a ceiling fan effect, how well does that work?

Any comments about effectiveness, problems, durability are appreciated.

I have a maxi-fan with a remote... what I liked about the fan I purchased and installed is that I didn't have to run wires up the wall to a control... I was able to find a good 12VDC power source in the ceiling... tap into it and run it across to the vent where I installed the fan...

In the years we've had this fan we had the motor mechanism that raises and lowers the vent cover fail... and on this unit it can be removed and replaced from inside the coach with a simple part...

Just my thoughts..

Sounds like just the way it is supposed to be done Jelag.

Also sounds like drwwicks you want every option except the remote so buy that one and mount the remote by the commode (if you know what I am saying)

Yes you could use the slide power but I doubt you will find slide wires anywhere near where you need them. You should find low voltage somewhere close though.

Girlfriend wanted the remote version so that's what we're getting. I checked the light right next to the vent and it's switched, not hot. The slide power wire, hot ones, are 12ga wires that are just around a corner and easily accessible. Just have to run a fish line down to the wiring. Ordered the Fantastic fan.
