We had a slight squeak on our net to us Safari Trek with the newer style Fantastic fan(flatter motor). I ran it on high for a day and it has been squeak free ever since.

Rick,
Thanks for the guidance on the fan. I was thinking I would get the motor and the lifting arm. Thought I would call Autoplicity tomorrow unless you know of a better place to get those two items? Thanks again for the help.

According to the folks on the airstream forum Dometic does not have nor honor the lifetime warranty, it is now 2 years for new units.
Five years ago I called Fantastic Fan about the lid, which did have a lifetime warranty. The woman in customer service FedXed me a new one overnight, shipping was the same amount-=or more, as a new lid at Camping World.

I have installed the new motor and the lift arm. It now operates when I put the thermostat on auto, it will not run. However, when I turn to manual, the lid goes up, and fan runs. I can change the speed of the fan on the thermostat. It will turn off at the thermostat as well.
Any thoughts/ideas appreciated.

I don't know where you're at but it's too cold right now for the thermostat to kick the fan on in Michigan.

Argosy,
I am in Katy, Texas down near Houston, so not too cold yet. We did have our first light freeze last night, but warmed up to mid 60's.
Anyway, I wasn't aware that the temperature had anything to do with the fan operation. I have never been where it's cold to test that theory. The other two fans work fine on auto.

Is your punctuation correct above? I've read it a couple different ways and I can't figure out exactly what you're saying. Are you still having a problem?
When you installed the new lift arm you got the new female side of the gear, like a sleeve. When you installed the new motor and case, did you notice the vertical play in the motor, the way it sits in the case - you should have about 1/4". If you could push the motor gear up into the female sleeve on the lift arm mechanism, it'll never strip out again. That was what I was talking about in my previous post, using small wood blocks under the motor.

Rick,
I meant to say that the fan did not run on auto, however, since then I have fixed that problem. Think it is all working as it should. I appreciate everyone's help!
