Fastest route out of myrtle beach?
Driving in here was a bear. Tons of traffic. Tons of lights. I think I took a poor route, as selected by my GPS.
Route posted below. Is there a better route, for a 40ft class a, back to Asheville?

Looks like the route you posted - or Pine Island.
Perhaps I could suggest asking a local about traffic on weekends/evenings, etc.
Sometimes we leave after dinner and just go 25-50 miles, or so, to get out of the daytime traffic areas. That way we have an easy start in the a.m. and stay the night in a more rural area so the next day's drive is easier. You may have to ask to stay late at your current campground.
Best course to follow would be to remember; (you'll curse me for this one) It's the journey, not the destination. LOL smile and watch the little cars acting like mindless gnats swarming about!
We hope you enjoyed your stay!

When I went Christmas 2020, I took 378. It wasn’t bad.

The last few times I too have gotten to where I prefer to drop down 17 and take 544 up to 501. It's a little slower but the last time we came back I went up through Darlington and Cheraw. Almost no traffic on a Sunday afternoon and my wife stated it was so much less stressful than the interstate.
Speaking of Asheville, last couple of times back from the Blue Ridge Mountains I happily putted my 38 footer through town to and through Hendersonville rather than that awful stretch of 26 past Asheville.

We traveled all around S.C. this past week, from Hilton Head, Charleston, Savannah and Columbia. We used the WAZE app. Although we didn’t go through Myrtle Beach this time we usually don’t have much problem with traffic with Waze. It did skirt us around an accident on one occasion which saved us a wait on the freeway.
