I want to replace my kitchen faucet. Can I use one purchased from Lowes? Thank, John

Connections to your RV pipes may be a problem, otherwise yes. They use standard Moen in my rig.

I just picked up a faucet from Lowes and put it in my kitchen. No issues.

Yes.... and NO.

First: that is exactly what I did. I bought one from Lowes.. It fit perfectly, no modifications needed.. BUT the plumbing

On the OEM both cold and hot connections were on the end of tubes which were the same length

on the one I bought, the COLD was the right length but the hot was not.. This resulted in some problems and I ended up adding a short length of flexible line to make up the difference.

No problem after that.


Next problem: My water pump developed a leak (The only realation to the faucet problem is they are/were both over a decade old) So today's home improvement was a new Sur-Flow water pump. Just for fun I will describe that job:

Turn off city water and bleed pressure off (low point drain)

Cut black wire from pump;, disconnect red, disconnect inlet and outlet lines (They are supposed to be only hand tight but I needed pliars to disconnect) rip pump out, then go in and remove the rubber shock mount. (4 screws #2 square, way easier with the pump out of the way.

Remove inlet strainer (hand tight) from pump; and clean it

Install it on new pump.

Solder seal and protect (heat shrink) the black wire to the one you cut (Easier than reaching all the way to where the connection was.

Reconnect inlet and outlet,, hand tighten (I added 1/6 turn with pliers)

Reconnect RED wire.

Test (Worked perfectly)

Install 4 screws to hold shock mount down.


Job done.

Total cost $0.00,, I get free Amazon gift cards, New pump; is 55 PSI(Old 45) and 3GPM (old 2.5) HAPPY CAMPER am I.

As already stated, you'll have to do some mods to the piping connections depending on your model. I've replaced 2 kitchen faucets on 2 different model motor homes and both were different, but doable.

I just replaced my tap with a household one. It had different connections but my piping is PEX so I just cut off the old fitting and installed one with a shutoff and the 3/8" connection I needed to go to the tap.

I bought one from Lowes and installed it with no problem. I took the opportunity to add some Sharkbite shut off valves to the lines. I also installed the sprayer that came with the new faucet. The original faucet did not have a sprayer so I did have to drill a hole through the countertop.

Here's the link to my prior post. One of the best upgrades I've done so far. Wife loves it. I'm also going to replace both bathroom faucets with Brushed Nickel faucets with a higher neck to give more room to wash. Will be bough at HD also.
