I too very sorry for your loss. May I suggest something. There is a “women’s only” camp group that was featured on a tv news magazine. I can’t recall just exactly what the name of their club was/is but, it was very interesting in that, they travel together, help each other with learning all aspects of camping, setting up, leveling, dumping, repairs, alterations, and a whole lot more.
They looked like they had/have a great time altogether. Some have older trailers, newer ones, motorhomes, class As, Cs etc.
More than likely, if you google women’s camp groups, you’ll find them. It was/is a pretty large group when they were featured. I’d bet you’d have a ball with them. Good luck I’m your endeavor to move on with life.

P.S. On Edit: I’m pretty sure this is the group. It’s called “Sisters on the Fly”.

Under the Forums tab at the top of the page, in the drop[ down, there is a Solo RVers tab in it there is a sticky that will help you.

Sorry about your loss. Just remember you have more experience now than when most people start new knowing nothing. We all start with the "first time I..." so go for it. It does not matter if you are a man or a woman. I cannot tell you how many more times I see solo females at campgrounds and dog shows. I keep telling my wife to take the Class A to the dog show without me as over half the rev's there are driven solo by women. RV'ers are a helpful group so if you get to a campground just ask for help backing in and/or hooking up. I've helped newbies that are renting for the first time and some of the solo people at dog shows - just to make their life easier. Just take it slow and leave room - it's like we used to in boating never go faster than you want to hit something!

How about contact your local school district & ask who trains their bus drivers?

Then either be honest & say your looking for training or tell them you want to consider driving a school bus to fill your free time.

Other option might be ask local fire department how they train drivers.
