First time buyer looking at a 2008 Damon Outlaw and a Gulfstream Bounty Hunter.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking at two class A toy haulers right now. My family of 4 ride dirt bikes and would like to get a motorhome that can haul them. This will be our first motor home, but I've done quite a bit of ocean sailing in my time, and the systems seem to be very similar. I'm also very mechanically inclined so minor repairs and maintenance don't bother me. I'll probably build and wire my own solar set up for whichever one I get.
I can see us taking a big trip 2 times a year. Most trips will generally be just be a few hours from home hanging out in the desert or mountains, riding. We do this multiple times a month right now, so I can imagine taking the MH out at least once a month.
These class A toy haulers fill a small niche, I haven't been able to find a lot of reviews on them. Any input that could help me choose which one is the better deal would be greatly appreciated.
Here's what I have available in my area right now.
2008 Damon Outlaw 3611, Gas, 45k miles, 5k solar system (not sure of the details on that yet), 1,200 hours on geni. $46,000
2008 Gulfstream Bounty Hunter 38" (actually 40), FRED Diesel, 37k miles, 7.5kw generator.
A little over $50,000.
Edit: I just found the Class A toy hauler thread at the top of the forum.
