I just ordered two skin sets for both captain chairs in my 2007 Pace Arrow from the Bauers. Anxious to see how they spruce up the old girl.

Sure makes a big difference! And well worth it as you have a nice rig! Enjoy!

I assume you have a Tiffin. Tiffin was giving the skins for free to affected people for at least 4 or 5 years after purchase. You had to find someone to install them, but that cost us a lot less than having entire pieces reupholstered. I am not saying anything bad about Lisa; she has a great reputation and really helps people out, but letting Tiffin owners in this circumstance know there are additional options.

And that is exactly why Flexsteel closed their RV industry business.

We have a 2019 Red 340. No peeling…..yet. Did they ever change and improve their methods/materials before discontinuing the business, or should I expect the same outcome for my FlakeSteel furniture?

Yes it sucks this is happenning. I went thru it too. I recovered all the furniture in my coach because of it.
Just an fyi. The leather isn’t fake. It’s actually pretty nice leather. The problem came from flex steel gluing the leather to that fabric backing. The glue dried the leather to the point that it would crack and flake off the backing. This was done because you didn’t need as thick a piece of leather with the backing as you would need without. It was cost savings gone awry.
I believe the problem/process was fixed somewhere around 2016/2017, but I could be off.

I had this happen to my rig’s furniture, sold in June 2018, and built that spring. I don’t think the process was fixed until 2020 or so.

FlexSteel doesn’t make the fabrics or coverings….they use whatever the coach builder specified. The problem came from coach builders specifying cheaper coverings instead of the tried and proven “ultraLeather” (which is a patented and trademarked covering made by ultra fabrics corporation)

EXACTLY! It's nothing more than cost savings - shall we use Ultraleather, at over $70 a yard, or use bonded leather, at about $20 a yard?
The Ultraleather in our 2007 Bounder still looks great 15 years, and 50,000 miles, down the road...

Flexsteel used Haloleather, made by Fabric Services, for a time, and was the cause of this problem. It was not genuine leather.
Some former Flexsteel employees formed a re-covering company and are currently re-covering the RV furniture that RV mfgrs. ordered covered with Haloleather.
