Fleetwood Slide motor gear housing busted

what would cause a gear housing to crack up on a slide? I have a new one coming, but do not want it to happen again. I had the slide out and I tryed to bring it in. That's when I found out.

Did the mounts break off the gear case; I've had to help a neighbour with one that did, we moved the bracket to the other side of the case ; some modification required.
There is another post with pictures of a repair . I'll track it down.
I think the mount bolts came loose, and the torque just snapped the threaded bosses of the case.

I found the thread and pictures.Go to;
Newmar Owner Forum
Click the blue ( Search this Forum ) drop box
Click ( Advanced )
On the ( Search by user Name )box
Type in ( Bryantclan)
Click the drop box below ( search for threads started by)
Start the search , and read ( Slide Motor issue) when it comes up Check out the pictures in the post , I think you will find that his problem is similar to yours.
I would think , that considering the torque the gear case/motor produces to move the slide that doubling up on the mount would be a good idea.
