Flooring replacement

I am looking at a 2007 Newmar Dutch Star that would need the carpet replaced.
Does anyone have any ballpark ideas about how much it would cost to have the carpet replaced or replaced with tile or hardwood?
Thanks,
Wm Mayberry

Newmar quoted me $900.00 a couple of years ago for carpet replacement in my 43 foot Dutch Star.

That would be great. Just need to get it up there.
Wondering if others have had theirs replaced and about how much?
Thanks,
Wm

I have a 40 foot Class A and I was quoted $9000 to replace the carpeting with vinyl tile. I also got a quote from Newmar 4 years ago. It was $8000 for carpet replacement with carpet.

I am always amazed at what Newmar apparently gets for service work. $8K for carpet? Sidewinder - $900? That sounds more realistic but on the low side.

My bedroom (the hardest area to carpet) was $150 in material and took less than a day. I will replace the front too, just deciding what I want to do.

Remove furniture (like the bed frame), Rip out the old carpet (try to keep the pieces as one piece), remove the old staples, layout the old pieces on the new carpet, cut a little bigger than the old, put in new padding, and staple in the new stuff, trim to fit.
A little over simplified but it's not rocket science.

..."$900"... to get a full coach carpet replaced!!!!!!!!!! Wow, if I could get that kind of price, I'd get ours done about once a month 'till we found what we liked!
We had our '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the CAT C-7 330HP re-carpeted about a year ago and, at $2,200 it was a deal, based on what others were paying at the time. And, I did a whole bunch of work, to assist that carpet layer. I basically gutted that coach. EVERYTHING that could be removed, was. The only component that could not be removed AT THE TIME, was a large, electric, two section reclining couch. And even that, I separated the two halves and moved it around while the carpet layer was doing various jobs.

But, without a doubt, since we're the kind that still like carpet for various reasons, it was WEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL worth the cost and the effort. That new carpet, along with new upholstery on that two-piece electric couch, all new valances and pull-down double roller shades (finally got rid of those piece of crap day-night re-string once-a-week junk), new upholstery on the table and chairs, just SERIOUSLY upgrades that interior of that coach.

It is now a pleasure to camp in it. We constantly get very nice comments on how nice, new and MODERN it now looks.

So many variables. Labor you can figure about three times what you would pay for a house of the same sq footage.

Here is a pic of replacing the carpet in mine:
https://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/mou...-394089-3.html
Post 37 bottom left. Shows using the old carpet as a template for cutting the new. Most important for the bedroom that has many pieces and none of them are rectangles.

Carpet replaced with hardwood

I did a post on this with the costs, if you are interested you can look thru the link to find the video in the upgrades section, this was done for the bedroom.
http://safaritoonces.org

I am just finishing the salon carpet replacement and will post a video on that as well.

I used a pattern that made the installation more time consuming than if just straight lines had been used. Using hardwood has a lot of advantages and is worth the extra time in my opinion. The salon costs are about $300 and the bedroom was $200. Both can be easily done in a day each if the wood is laid down straight without a pattern. We just place a decorative rug at the couch and bed side for comfort and that allows the rug to be easily cleaned. All that is needed is a miter saw and small flooring nailer. A skilled hardwood installation trades person could easily do each room in 4 hours if the carpet was removed and all the staples. I say this from having also laid all the hardwood in our house without any pattern.
