For those of you, like me, who have learned a lot from Martin with RVStreet...

I stumbled across a video of his a few days ago titled "RVing with Cancer - Update #1" and it was from three months ago.

Apparently he was diagnosed with liver cancer late last year and it had spread to his side and neck. He said his oncology doctor gave him maybe two years when he asked how he would be in four or five years.

On April 3, 2023 his wife Joanie posted on their FB page that Martin passed away the day before.

Cancer sucks.

Joanie has put their motorhome up for sale to help finance building a home.

So sad.

Ray

This is really sad news.

I really enjoyed Martin's channel he had a great approach to explaining things, loved his "forearm socks"... :(

I liked watching his videos I wondered why there weren't any newer video's. I suspected that he was having issues. RIP

This does stink. While his channel was not one of my regular channels, I have watch a few of his videos. Truly sad for he was one of those personalities that really wanted to contribute and help people,

I'm stunned! I had absolutely no idea that Martin had passed away. I'm one of their subscribers on YouTube and watched a video posted just three days ago. I rarely, if ever, read any of the comments and would've known had I just bother to read them......

So sad....

This is news to me as well. I didn't know he was close to this in viewing the videos. Thanks for the update. I'd have sort of expected an announcement from RV Travel where I first heard about his channel- but nothing yet.- Very sad. I feel so sorry for Joni too-she was really his anchor. I watched many of his videos and he had a passion for taking care of things proactively. This is a very sad thing for the rv world. Thank you for this update!

I’ve watched his videos and always enjoyed them. I commented regularly and we chatted on occasion. I had no idea that he passed away and am deeply saddened by this. I just watched a new video a week ago or so. I also was not aware of how bad his condition was. Thanks for sharing.

If cancer is a concern, as it is for most people and especially if there is a family history, check out the Galleri blood test. The Cleveland Clinic is/was running a trial for it: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/depar...thfinder-study

The test works by looking for DNA fragments from cancer in the blood. It's false positive rate is like 0.5% and can detect about 50 different cancers, including liver and pancreatic. One person who was in the CCF trial just because he worked for the physician running the trial was found to have a slow-growing lymphoma. Another physician reported one of his patients was found with early stage pancreatic cancer.

CCF test info: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/the-galleri-test/

The list price for the test is $949 currently and probably is not covered by insurance. So if you can find a local trial that would get it for free.

The list of detections: https://www.galleri.com/patient/the-...ancer-detected

Thanks for the update, sad news. I had no idea as there was a new upload just a few days ago.

I enjoyed Martin's videos and got some good ideas from those like how to wash the RV.
I hope Joanie is doing OK.

My deepest condolences to Joni and family. Never met Martin in person. His videos made me feel like he was talking to just me. Learned a lot from him and thanks to Joni they made a great team. Thank you for your service to our country you will be missed. Deeply saddened by this news.
