Found water sitting

We hooked up the water to the RV parks water, we went to town and when we came back there was water on the floor. Any ideas as to why this happened? Shut water off and it stopped. Any simple fixes?

Your water supply lines have been compromised somewhere inside your coach. All you can do is track it down and repair it.

.....and after you track it down, for the most part in an RV....you should not leave the water supply on....pump or city when your going to be leaving for a significant amount of time.

AMEN to that! I've seen an RV pouring water out the door while no-one was home, a kind soul was already shutting off his water valve at the hookup when I came on it. We found out later it was a loose hose under the sink.

Our neighbor behind us at Creekwood Farms campground left to go to town for supplies. Looked over later and saw water coming out of the front door. Went over and shut off water. His wife had left the water running in the kitchen sink with the plug in. Luckily his sink was right at the front door and most went out the door.

Some of the pex plumbing in your coach will have couplers that are plumbed together with hand tightened fittings.

As you travel these fittings sometimes vibrate loose and start leaking.

Turn on the water, grab a flashlight, a few towels to dry up the leaking water and start following the trail until you get close to the source. At some point you are going to have to remove an access cover to find the exact leaking fitting(s).

The rule is to only use "hand tightening" to secure the fittings. I use the hand tight plus a quarter turn with pliers.

If you don't have functionality in your hands -- I suppose you can ask a neighbor, call a plumber or an rv tech.

When we travel, I shut off the water to the house (we are on a well system) in case a pipe/hose breaks while we are gone. Similarly, when we travel, I shut off the water at the hookup before we set out for the day. A small leak over a period of time, can cause a lot of damage.

To help find the leak, I suggest using the blue shop paper towels. When water hits them, they turn dark blue.

I just had a similar experience and it turned out to be the backside of the city water connection. Basically, right through the wall from where the hose hooks to the trailer. There is a hand tightened fitting that was so loose I can't believe it had never leaked before.

Not sure where to begin looking, is there typically access panels? Pretty new to this stuff. I'd hate to start cutting into the walls when there could be someplace easily accessible. It's a 2003 32' Gulf Stream Independence and the water is seeping in by the toilet and then by shower. Any thoughts other than "I have a leak" [emoji846].

Again it's only when I hook up to city water.

If it doesn't happen when you run the pump instead you have at least narrowed it down.

Do you have a valve to switch between tank fill and city water?
