Four Winds Windsport 35f

Does anyone have this MH? Do you like it? We are looking at buying a 2004 model. We have had a popup camper and a travel trailer, but this will be our first MH.

I've seen a couple in campgrounds but haven't talked to any owners. For Winds is a value-oriented brand, but I haven't heard any complaints about their quality.

the local rv rental place uses the windsports exclusively. i presume that's because they stand up to abuse.

We had an 02 34' Windsport that had one slide on the drivers side in the salon. Loved it. It had the Workhorse chassis with a Chevy 8.1 liter engine. It was a perfect pairing. We towed an 03 Honda CRV and put 53K miles on it before we sold it to buy an 03 40' Beaver Monterey. There were the usual first-owner little problems with it, but we really liked it. The only real problem we had as the rubber shroud around the radiator broke loose in Wyoming in the Wind River Canyon and went into the fan. Three of the fan blades went into the radiator and tore it up. We had to be towed appoximately 175 miles to Jackson to have it repaired. It was still under warranty so we didn't have to pay anything. I believe subsequent models had beefier shrouds. The Windsport had great pulling power and we would pass all the trucks and most of the diesel pushers on the mountain roads. It was a good MH for the money. Gas mileage was between 7 and 7.5 mpg. Our DP gets 9 and the Windsport would probably pass us up on a hill.
