We have a 2011 Thor Serrano, it is no longer manufactured I believe because workhorse stopped making the chassis they were on. We love ours, good hunting.

Not a FLUF or BUFF either!!
Since the conductor residence used to be the caboose, instead of FRED I termed them electrical conductors.

We had a 2012 Thor Serrano 33W which was the last year they were made. I believe they were stopped being produced due to the Workhouse chassis not being available. The Serrano has the Maxxforce 7 engine. We did not find the engine noise to be unbearable and had no problems towing our vehicle (Fiat 500L). We did not have any issues with the coach (had it for 4 years) and only got rid of it because we really wanted a DP. We also purchased the 'FRED" as a first step into owning a diesel powered coach since we had no experience with diesel engines.

In the Railroad business, a FRED isn't what a FRED is in the RV world. Anyway, I think it will be my next step up. Other than Tiffin and Gulfstream, where do I look, brand wise? I am going to aim for a 2006 or 2007 model year. Did Winnebago make one?
It seem like they were only made for a few years?
Any owners want to speak up? Thanks in advance.
Jim
Railhead,

I have a friend who is getting out of RVing and has a very nice Tiffin FRED. Send me a PM and I will send you his email address. Please no dealers.

We also have a 2012 Thor Serrano 34w. So far so good. Not too noisy for us at all. Pull a little suzuki no problem. Very happy. Love the bath and 1/2. Lots of bang for the buck.

We stayed at Rawlins, WY. KOA a few weeks ago. There was a Tiffin FRED for-sale. I believe it belonged to Owner/Manager of park.

Freightliner and Workhorse made a FRONT Engine Diesel chassis...ended in 2010 models

The FL was at 27,000lb GVWR with a 6.7L Cummins
The W20 was at 20,000 GVWR with a Navistar V8

Thor/Damon and Gulfstream used the FL
Thor/Damon and Monaco/HR used the W20.

They are rare, but still out there.

Best luck
