Freezer, ice cold...Fridge, not so much.
Any ideas on what would cause the fridge to stay warm while the freezer gets ice cold? It's the Whirlpool resi fridge. Model # Wrt111sfdm02. I pulled the back panel inside the freezer and the fan was running in there just fine. I checked the styrofoam ducting that runs down to the fridge and it's clear. Is there another fan that I should be looking for in the back? Hate to pull this thing out if I don't have to. In a 2016.5 Outlaw LS if that helps. Thanks.

If it's not the evaporator fan, it's the diverter that sends cold air to the refrigerator side or the parts that control the diverter.

I would think if freezer is cold and rear panel fan is working refrigerator should be cold unless rear flue is iced up, have you tried defrosting unit.

Go to this website for your residential refrigerator input your model number and you will have a nice selection or troubleshooting instructions including videos and suspect part diagnosis. My only suggestion would be to check temperature setting for the refer side.

Mine did that a couple times. put the food in a cooler, turn off the reefer, and open all the doors for 4 or 5 hours. you can also use a hair dryer to thaw. Aim the airflow into the open area in the back of freezer into the grate.
Mine did that when the door was left slightly open for a couple days. The compressor tries to bring the top section to the set temperature, and freezes the coils.

One thing to consider. That model looks like a 11 cu ft model. If it is it is likely built in China. Most of those fridges has hokey controls. When you turn freezer dial to coldest, it starves bottom compartment of most of its cold. Set freezer dial to warmest and try it

Dom, no ice buildup. And, yes, I noticed that the 'coldest' temp setting in the freezer is also the warmest setting for the fridge. Maybe that's the issue.
Very strange design...

Made a lot of money off warranties because of that issue. Customer complaint too warm in fridge, turn control, collect money

Haven't checked it. Been so cold here, hard to tell. Will have to wait for warmer days before I know for certain.
