Fresh water capacity

What is the typical capacity of a fresh water holding tank? I've searched my owners manual and I'm coming up empty. I'm assuming 100 gallons but not sure. I need to clean the water lines (RV sitting for a few years) and not sure how much bleach I should put in. Gallon of water and ¼ cup of bleach per 15 gallons of tank capacity. Any help would be appreciated on where i can find this information.

Should be in your Owners Manual. If not, try a Google search for your model & year and you may be able to find a brochure with the info. Can't tell if you have put your MH year old model in your signature as the mobile app doesn't display signatures. If you post with that info someone may be able to help.

Being a gasser, I would guess the fresh water tank capacity to be in the 50-60 gallon range, but that is just a guess.

Over chlorinating will no hurt, dump it in and drive around for a while. You are going to drain it and refill I'm sure.

There are an awful lot of rigs, both gas and diesel, that have only 60 gallons or so of fresh water capacity. Since we dry camped frequently, tank sizes were important to us, and we were able to remove a lot of rigs from the possibility list due to that one item. However, I agree with a PP that slightly over chlorinating won’t do any damage. It just might take two tanks of fresh water to clear it out instead of one.

Sometimes this type of info is on a paper list attached to the back of a closet or cabinet door.

Our 40' DP has an 87 gallon fresh water tank. Don't know how typical that is.

My friend has the exact same coach. Here are the specs for his and a few others. His is the 377 Pathfinder 07. You can thank Dan for that info. He sent it to me while trying to find something on his coach.Cheers

If you identified the RV, maybe somebody would know. Otherwise it is just guesswork, anywhere from 25 gallons to 100+.

The spec sheets will typically give water capacity, which isn't quite the same as tank size. Fresh water capacity usually includes the water heater and water lines as well as the tank itself. And if you get the tank size alone, it is usually the capacity as listed by the tank manufacturer, before inlets and outlets are added. I usually doesn't hold quite that much in actual use.

As somebody said, for sanitizing you can just assume 100 gallons and mix accordingly. Extra chlorine is not a problem. In fact, it's usually good.

Under the registry link, it shows he has a 2007 Coachmen Pathfinder Sportscoach. My friend has the identical unit, and I have have travelled with him and his wife approx. 20,000 miles in the rv.

Depends on the rig you have and it seems that you have found your answer.

Good luck.

Fleetwood lists my Bounder has having 100 gallons of fresh water CAPACITY. The tank actually holds 110 gallons. So CAPACITY can mean only the tank.

And....the answer to your question.
