Bad news for leaving it on when you can't hear it. As per usual under Murphy's law and for the one time we we're driving for a ways and for leaving it on. It developed a leak at one of the hose connections on the hot water tank in the rear bath. Didn't even notice it until the floor was wet at the front passenger side where DW was sitting and that's a lot of water.
Just saying and the same for leaving your shore water on, while away.
