Fuel cap left at pump

2004 National Tropical..The chain had came off the cap and I was usually very careful, but this time I left it on top of the pump and drove off. Any ideas where to find replacement? It was flush cap with 2 holes to put tool in to unscrew.

Hit your friendly auto parts store. If you fill from both sides, take the other cap with you.

After 300,000 miles of filling a motorhome, I just left a cap at the local Costco. It was cheaper to go to NAPA than to drive back to Costco

When i put in a 2004 Freightliner XC on both the Gates and Stant application guides, they come up with a cap that like these for that application:

Gates 31320

Stant 10611

But they don't look like the ones that I had on an XC so I can't be absolutely sure that these are the ones you're looking for.

If nobody else chimes in today who has your exact motorhome, I'd probably call FCCC and ask them what they used as the OEM fuel cap back then and then cross-reference a Gates or Stant or some other manufacturer for a equivalent application.

When I read your description of the cap you lost, I was reminded of my friends NationL Tropical RV with the same type cap.

This is a link to a Perko cap, generally used in marine applications. It is for 1 1/2" fill necks, so may either not be the correct size for you or not work with large truck nozzles.

Plain replacement https://www.freeportmarine.com/hardw...-1-2-pipe.html

Diesel embossed replacement https://www.freeportmarine.com/hardw...vent-hose.html

I hope this gets you closer to a solution.
