fuel delivery problem
I have a mechanical 8.3 Cummins in a 97 Monaco. After a trip I was headed home when coach died 10 miles from home. I noticed the engine running low on power then low fuel light came on then engine died like it ran out of fuel, this all happened in 30 second time span. I put more fuel in and spent a couple hours trying to bleed engine without any success and had it towed home. Replaced fuel water separator and main fuel filter, bled system right up to the banjo fitting, would not start. Purchased a new mechanical pump and installed, purged again and started up fine, ran for about 15 minutes. The next day I could not get it started and noticed the clear sight glass fuel bow on the water seperator was empty. I purged the system over and over without success. I finally temporarily hooked up a 12v electric fuel pump at the fuel tank I had and bled the air out again, started right up but as soon as I turn off the electric pump (thinking the air is bled out) I can see the level of fuel in the sight glass drop until the engine runs out of fuel, have repeated this procedure over and over, same result.
