Fuel fluctuations

Fuel gauge not steady. I noticed that when I turn off headlights, fuel gauge moves.

Welcome to iRV2.

That's not much info to go on. Can you elaborate?

Thats typically a dash ground issue.
All of the dadh lights come on and draw some power, leaving less for the gauges.

Unless its moving a lot, keep it above 1/4 and you really don't need to worry.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I would suspect a bad wiring connection at the sending unit on the fuel tank! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Have to ask if it’s a Monaco?
When we had our Windsor all the gauges moved from normal with headlights on.
Typical grounding issue

If it's always consistent (stays the same), then I wouldn't worry. Just do like twinboat says and keep it above 1/4 tank.
Remember, the genset will run out of fuel when you get to 1/4 tank anyway. If you need to use it for some reason, you will be out of luck if you are below that.
Happy Glamping.

another detail is if the symptom occurs at a certain gas level range. If so, then it points more to a sensor issue, and not external of the tank wiring.
But if that is the only symptom...I wouldn't worry too much about it.

No problem. Remember the old Volkswagen? When the engine balked you kicked over to reserve fuel. Now, when the genset quits you are at 25%!
