Fuel pump question 1987 Bounder

Has anyone had a problem with the coach shutting down on a Chev P30 Chassis with the Chev 454 ci engine? My coach is doing that, so we wired the electric fuel pump that is mounted in the same outside basement area as the filters so that it is always on when the key is on and that fixed the problem. I would like to have it run when it's supposed to as it was wired at the factory. I have a fuel pump relay circuit chart for the Chev P30 chassis, it shows several relays and modules. I was wondering if anyone had this problem and solved it. Also I don't know where these relays are located. I would appreciate any info anybody has.

I'm not sure about relays but my pump that is in the tank is turned on by a switch that is located on the oil pressure line. ( mine is "T" in with the oil pressure sending unit). Oil pressure = 12volts to the pump.

Mine is on the drivers side of the engine towards the front, not far from the engine mount.

I had the same MH. The switch is on the oil filter adaptor on the engine. When the engine is not running, there is no oil pressure, so it shuts the electric pump off. I had problems with mine when it was new. Couldn't keep the factory (carter) electric pump working. Fleetwood came out the next year with a replacement pump, bit wouldn't cover mine. I finally installed a Holley Blue electriC pump with redulator. I also wired a toggle switch next to the pump in the side compartment, in case i wanted to shut the pump off while still having the ignition keu ON (like checking the tail lights, etc.)
