Furnace Suburban FC 30. 2001

I just got this Fleetwood flair 30H
and I try to use the furnace, first it do not work, then after troubleshooting I found out the alarm system for propane located under the cabinet kitchen was disconnected????

I reconnected the alarm system and the furnace start working, BUT, the smell of burning was very strong and scary, I shut off immediately!

I know one way you don't use it for long time normally does a burning smell.

But someone disconnected the alarm purpose to disable the furnace ( I presume).

I believe the system needs to be cleaned very well, I found some nutshells surround the furnace
maybe that's what I got inside burning.

Definitely I should protect the exhausted to prevent animals to get in.

Anyone knows the temperature for the exhaust system, it seems to me very hot, such a waste of temperature or something is wrong.

I sincerely appreciate it anyone could respond to me, I definitely going to need it for the winter.

Thank you

It's hard to say. When furnaces haven't been used for a while there will definitely be a strong odor the first time. Someone probably disconnected the LPG detector because it was false alarming, but unless you can contact the previous owner there's no way to know. I don't think they would have disconnected the alarm to shut off the furnace. Personally, I would run the furnace and see if the smell goes away, but I'm NOT telling you to do that! The decision has to be yours!

LP Detector shuts propane solenoid to go closed (drops DC to it when alarms)......it shuts down ALL Propane

Propane shutoff solenoid no longer used...you can replace/hard pipe it and install a NEW LP Detector (which is needed on that 2001 RV---should be replaced 5-7 yrs after mfg. date on backside of detector)

Furnace.....nutshells
YES....definitely needs a thorough cleaning

What Brand/Model is furnace?

Do you know how to get access to clean the burners from some debris leave behind by wildlife.

I believe that's what it is, little pieces got into fire when I turn on.
