Gas Buddy

Has anyone used Gas Buddy and actually given them your banking information. Seems sketchy to me.

I use them but I don't give my banking nor credit card info to any app.
I was not even aware that they asked for it. Perhaps I have an old version.

I use the app and have the credit card.

You can link it to any account you want and the GasBuddy card, when used, requires a specific driver ID, which you specify.

So essentially, you get another level of security to your linked account because you don’t have to expose your bank card at fuel facilities but the funds are drawn directly from your specified account upon use.

And you get a 5 cent per gallon discount. Or if you join the premium membership, you get a 20 cent per gallon on the first 40 gallons purchased each month.

However, the fuel discount cannot be used at discount gas facilities such as Costco, etc.

I just finished a 30 day trip and used the GasBuddy app almost exclusively for finding and pricing fuel in five different states. It worked very well.

I also use the app to track my fuel mileage in all of the vehicles I drive.

I like it and use it regularly, however it may not be right for everyone.

Send a message via ICQ to Ivylog
I use it and it usually saves me $50+ on each fillip (100+ gallons). Recently bought 150 gallons at two different Sam’s Clubs...$2.50 instead of $2.95 at FlyJ plus another 12 cents using a Sam’s credit card. That’s $87X2=$174 in savings on two fill-ups.

I've used it for a long time to find the best prices, but would never give them bank or credit card info!
