Gas MH power issues !

We have a 2008, 8.1, 36ft, W24 , Workhorse Chassis with the Allison 6 speed trans, 26k combined weight with our Jeep in tow , can do 7% grades at 60mph, no problem, never down shifts lower than 3rd gear and RPMs never above 3300. What makes this work so well is the six speed trans !

We nearly bought the same rig as you. We were trying to work a deal on a 2001 25' R-Vision on the Workhorse platform. The dealer would not accept a deal pending an inspection and sold it out from under us.

So 3rd gear and 3300 rpm = 60mph?

Not having a standard gas coach, I quietly pass most DPs and semi trucks while traveling up a steep grade, my Bounder front gas engine coach used to struggle and man it could get loud while climbing a mountain road.
