Gas or Diesel
To all the good people of this online RV community. The wife and I are looking to trade our 2018 37' gas coach for a 2013 43' with a 450 HP Cummins. Can I get some input of the pros and cons of this idea.

Quieter ride up front because the engine is at the back. 40' or more.
Quieter sleeping in the back, because the generator is usually up front, and harder to hear if you need to run it overnight.

If you can afford it and don't have a problem with the yearly maintenance costs, why not?? There's no question that they have some advantages over a gas powered motorhome. If I had the budget....and was a bit younger...I'd make the upgrade.

Diesel coaches have advantages over gas coaches, but they come at a cost. You need to decide if those advantages are the things that are important to you. The only disadvantages I can think of are; the higher cost to operate, maintain, and repair the Diesel engine. Depending on the type of driving you intend to do each engine type can meet the needs of a driver if you’re willing to make it work. Since you already own a gas coach you know about the drawbacks of the engine right next to you. I chose to have it in back, along with the added towing capacity, air ride suspension, and a longer coach. I’ve never owned a gas coach, but test drove them and decided I liked the Diesel engine coaches better. If you’re needing more space than your current 37’ coach then I believe you’ll be happier in the 43’ coach. Often the added length can offer the additional half bath which is yet another plus to the diesel coach family.
I do suggest you have the 2013 coach looked over by someone who knows what to look for. There are diamonds out there as well as coal.!

The percentage of people going from gas to diesel is very high.
The percentage of people going from diesel to gas is very low.
As one of the former, we're very happy with our decision.
