Gauges acting up
Hello,
Have an 06 Discovery 39V
Rear air gauge was showing zero no buzzer. Confirmed rear air bags are up. Then today all the other gauges peg to the right side. My digital display shows the correct oil pressure, temperature, voltage, ect.
I was told may be VDC? Thoughts?
Thanks, Mike

Welcome to iRV2.
Sorry your first post is about problems .
If your coach is on a freightliner chassis and was built before 2004 then VDC ( Vehicle Data Center ) would be a possibility.
But freightliner had replaced the VDC system with MMDC ( Multi Module Data Center by 2006 .
RV Tech Library - Freightliner MMDC Information Display
I have testing info for the VDC gauge system , but nothing for the MMDC .
Phone Freightliner help line with your chassis serial number and ask for gauge testing info .
1-800-385-4357
Ask for an air system diagram too, the rear air tank isn't involved with the rear suspension , air system diagram will confirm that.
If you do get a document ; I'd like to have a copy ; they only release info to owners with a valid serial number so I can't call for it myself.
You can sent me a " Private Message " by clicking on my user name " Skip426 " top left of this post , and clicking the private message option . Contact me and we can arrange to transfer any info.

Most likely a plug/socket issue - get CRC contact cleaner and lubricant.
Open the dash and remove each connection, spray with CRC and plug back in multiple time - do all the plugs and sockets.
Freightliner has had historical communications issues to the MMDC or other CPY and has replaced cables, etc.. I've had trouble with mine and CRC has helped to keep me going.
Good luck and let us know what finally solves your issues.

Not saying this is your problem but I had a similar problem with my 2007 Freightliner chassis on my 2007 Discovery. So before I was going to take it to a repair shop I backed the dash out to check the connections on the air gauges. To my vision they seemed to be fine. But before I put it back together one by one I unplugged all of the connections on the gauges and replugged them back in. That was 3 years ago and they are still functioning properly now. It might be worth a try.

If you are handy, check every electrical connection behind the dash and wherever else you can get too. Loose wires can exhibit all kinds of strange anomalies.

Turns out the original back air gauge not working was the problem with the other gauges. Once I disconnected the air gauge all the other gauges went back to normal. It has something to do with the communication.
Thanks for everyone’s help

Thanks for posting you've found your problem .
But could you clarify for me ; by " Back air gauge " do you mean the dash mounted air gauge for the rear air system ?
Or was the issue with the rear air pressure sensor?
TIA.

Thanks for the follow up.
So one , multiplexed gauge messed up the signals to the rest .
Did your gauge wiring hook up look like the diagram in this file ?
All gauges have the same plug and it doesn't matter which plug goes where.
