GE Spacemaker Oven

GE JVM1490BH01 oven. The oven portion will pre-heat and and bakes until you open the door to either stir/add additional food or just check the food. After you open the door you get "caution oven hot" on the display and will not re-start until the oven cools down. During this process of "oven hot" the micro wave portion of the unit will NOT work as well. Anybody have ideas or found a solution? As a side note, how does the unit come out? Is it mounted from the top or back of the unit? If you needed to replace, what did you replace with?

It's supposed to restart when you close the door and press the dial or START/PAUSE to resume cooking. Maybe give them a call if that's not working.


I haven't replaced this particular one, but I have replaced others. Another oven with the same dimensions will fit the space but the way it connects to the cabinetry will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and even within the same manufacturer from model to model. We haven't had any problem replacing them but it can be a PITA because they're awkward and heavy.
