Generator during winter storage

This is the first time for us in a class A with an Onan generator.

The coach is winterized. Among all the other things, I added Stabil to the fuel tank and ran it through the system. Never thought much about the generator.

So, how often should I start the unit up and let it run while stored? I have easy access to the coach since it's parked right here on our property. Just fired it up, today, on advise of a relative. First time since we purchased in August. Everything seemed ok, but how often do I go out and run it during the winter? Thank You.

Usually they want one to two hours a month with a 50% load on the gen. I will start the gen, let it run a couple minutes, then start my three heat pumps teobon heat and one on cool. After 20 min or so I change modes so at the end they've all run on heat and cool modes.

The standard is 1/2 hour under 1/2 load every month or if you really want to insure operation 1/2 month.

I would install. or cause to be installed TWO 15/20 amp Duplex outlets, One in the front, one in the back, 12 ga wire properly bent around screws, Proper 20 amp (or 15 your choice) breakers.

Plug in a pair of 1500 watt space heaters as your Winter load

NOTE: I said "I would" Reality: I DID. Happy with result

(Do not use factory outlets for space heaters).
