i had a 6500 lp onan in my fiver and yes it did go through lp in a pretty good rate, but another 4500 is not much better. imo

4500 claims 14 hours on 5 gallons propane. I get about a gallon an hour on the 6500 so even if exaggerated the 4500 will be at least twice as efficient as the Onan. Tank is 35 gal..

Do any of you have a MS meter? Currently I am a 4 sheets past 3 sheets in then wind.

It all started this morning. Made hash browns but forgot to turn on the garbage disposal. fast forward to to m asking dinner.

While making dinner\, multi taskin g an doing disshes. Sin k backs up.

Nest thing you mknmow the contents under the sink are pulled out and the cloakage is fixed. dinner is made and all is good.

Except for all the hazzrdous cjemicals on the flootr and a 3 year old. Several stories of prpompt ctrictaclity wioth enriched uraniujmd, the kitchen is rendered safve for the 3 year old. Tje late DW was a master in odd ball solutins ti ants.

One last peice of ionformations. Wneh beverages mixed suppoed from cosimnopses tose under the sink.

Bottom linme, BS aside, thermal efficiency is measured in specific terms using calibrated instruments. Last time a checked no Rv is such equipped.

Beautiful thing, all the choices with the RV lifestyle. I am reading that this is not a cost savings for you, since the cost of the portable generator is going to take a while to make up in any fuel savings. Convenience wise, it is a bigger hassle to pull out and run the portable vs. just hitting start, but does give you more flexibility. Noise is less, variable speed partly and because you have greater distance from the RV. You are also carrying around some extra weight.

Fuel usage ratings have to be considered at what load you are running. Likely the variable speed 4500 is better at light loads than the constant speed 6500 ONAN, however that may flip as you approach heavier loads. Also at a 3 - 4 kW load, that portable is not quiet except by distance. You can reduce the load and extend the charge time, but then maybe a lighter 2K can work.

Ultimately all that matters is how you feel, RVing has many emotional decisions.

Be very careful if considering permanently mounting any portable. They are not intended to cool, except in the open. Also if you mount it, much of your noise benefit will erode.

All that said and done, I like the. Card table idea. Very clever and cheap.

At the nearly full load of running 2 AC units the 4500 genset will not get that much better fuel economy than the 6500. Surely not enough to pay for the purchase price within the next 5 years.
