Generator Maintenance

I did not regularly start the generator on my Class A M/H as I was supposed to do and now cannot get it started.

Who is the best to take it to, to get it operating again?

Welcome to iRV2.

Do you have the owners manual for your generator ?

Been through the troubleshooting guide ?

Does it turn over and not start ?

Do you have over a 1/2 tank of fuel ?

Can you add all the info of your generator to your post ?

Make , model and fuel type.

Generator Maintenance

Same thing happened to me. I did not know it needed to be run monthly. Lesson learned! I run the generator 45 minutes under load every month. I keep enough fuel so it never goes below 1/4 tank. Generator will not run with less than 1/4 tank.
The carburetor needed to be replaced. The fuel had congealed in the carburetor.
I had a mobile RV Tech replace it for me.
Wishing you success.

Welcome.

Please tell us what brand and model generator you have.

Advice for a diesel Power Tech won't do you much good if you have a gasoline powered Onan.

Also, if you are looking for a tech/shop recommendation please tell us where you are located.

I agree, without knowing brand and model of generator it is hard to give advice here. Having said that, if it is a gas generator it likely needs a new carburetor, if you are at all handy you can probably replace it yourself and save hundreds of dollars in exchange for 15 minutes worth of work. There are youtube videos that will show you the process step by step.

I have owned fife class A coaches and they all got put into storage from approximately November 1 and came back out around April 1. Never started anything while in storage and never had an issue from not starting them while stored. The first four were gas and the current one is diesel.
With that said maybe some people store them for much longer periods of time, I think I have read up to a year stored and that might cause an issue.
Good luck getting it up and running.

The problem is modern gasoline blends with ethanol which attracts moisture and gums up carburetors as it breaks down.
