Have 1455 watts solar and 600 a/h of lithium, can run everything except acs's off the batteries even with overcast conditions for 3 or 4 days. When the sun comes out again, they charge up quickly.
But do have a generator if I need air conditioning, really the only time I need it. But not cheap, have about $7000 in the solar panels, controllers, and batteries. That was 4 years ago, you can do it much cheaper now.

Put me down as gen primary and solar secondary. As some others do, we run our fridge on propane most of the time. We overnight often in rest areas, truck stops, and sometimes stay in other out of the way places like the desert or forest. It's nice to have the micro when you want it being run by pushing a button in the RV to start the gen. I suppose it could also be done somehow with an inverter using the batts, the gen just seemes easier to me.
